SJI

Learning Festival

By Mrs Vivian Tan
The theme of this year ' s SJI Learning Festival was ' Culture of Growth , Community of Practitioners .’ Creating an organizational culture of growth is the key to helping our teachers maximize their professional potential .

When our community focuses on growth and continual learning , we will tap into our intrinsic motivations and find more meaning and purpose in our work . This is the belief we embrace year after year as we organise the learning festival . This year , the festival was hosted online on 22 September , and participants could choose from a variety of concurrent sessions conducted by practitioners from the S5 schools as well as colleagues from the international schools . It was also the first time we hosted the Virtual Gallery , a platform for asynchronous online learning . The response from the teaching fraternity was very encouraging , with more than 200 participants from 17 schools coming together to learn and share .

On the whole , the SJI Learning Festival was a success . The following are comments from some of the participants :
Mdm Vimi , Superintendent for South Zone , “ So grateful to you and your team for a brilliant effort !”
Ms Rosabel Ng , SJI Board of Governor - “ I attended the A and B workshops earlier and thought they were very good . I really enjoyed the “ Poetrail ” run by Miss Frida Ho . I even read out my poem , inspired by Brother ’ s Sculpture called Shang .”
Ms Britta Seet , Vice-principal of Nanyang Girls High School , “ I can see the SJI staff laboured much for the school ’ s progress . It ’ s been quite a transformation for the staff .”
