We hope this magazine will throw light on the people , programmes , and philosophy of SJI .

On the cover : Ora et Labora - a bronze plaque cast in Petrasanta , Italy , by Mr Chong Fah Cheong in 1988 . It was designed to give a Singaporean interpretation of the founder , St . John Baptist de La Salle and the elements of the school ' s badge , in a developing S ' pore city scene with the Republic flag in the foreground . This plaque is displayed in the canteen .
