With that challenge posed to his peers , Thinh embarked on a vision to see TEDx Youth @ SJI come to fruition on 8 July 2017 . The TEDx organising team made the inaugural event a resounding success . Speakers hailing from various industries addressed the audience and provoked them to think about life , choice and goals .
TEDx is an event to inquire , inspire and invigorate . At the beginning of the year , this opportunity was conveyed to the senior section by Nguyen Huu Thinh ( Viktor ) from TG 113 . “ I wanted to establish TEDx Youth @ SJI because I found meaning in the spread of intellectual ideas through short , powerful Ted Talks . I believe many friends shared the same vision ; evidently , it took no time to garner the support of 55 Josephians . It was not all a bed of roses along the way , but every time I envisioned a strong TEDx community here in the future , I was so compelled to push harder and lift TEDx from a slogan to a reality . I hope what we have established will inspire action from our juniors .”
On 8 July , TEDx Youth @ SJI transformed from an idea to an actuality . The organising committee had worked tirelessly to arrange for seven speakers from various backgrounds and industries , including two of our very own students to address the audience . Both teachers and students alike were inspired by the speakers ' heartfelt stories and intriguing ideas . Our own student musicians also performed in between talks enthralling the audience with their renditions of popular songs .
The event was a wonderful culmination of the synergy and spirit of people possessing diverse talents .
