SJI boys reach out to Bendemeer Primary
As part of Project Scubilion , the Secondary three boys of 324 and 325 have been engaged in a tutor mentoring programme that caters to about 50 students from Bendemeer Primary school . These students come from humble backgrounds and most would not be able to afford private tuition . Thus our boys are given the opportunity to tutor them and also act as big brothers to their wards .
This programme was launched on 28 March 2011 and takes place on Mondays from 2.30pm to 3.45pm . SJI boys take pride and responsibility in teaching their juniors both English and Mathematics , and will continue in their efforts till August .
It is hoped that through this project our boys will learn to give back to society in their own small ways and that this will instil in them the habit of doing more after they leave SJI .
