Corso Alcide de Gasperi Piattello Via Giuseppe Paggi laFoglia “Primary objectives of the operation: energy efficiency and standardization of the plants, with particular attention to citizens’ safety and with a specific focus on the modulation of the light colour in different urban scenarios. All of this with products characterized by a design adapted to the architectural context of the city.” (Engr. Andrea Bonni – coordinator of the project - ASM Vercelli) Based on the Masterplan, a project was set up that “is the synthesis of some related fundamental aspects: the mapping of the real situation through a census of the Public Lighting of the city, the consequent elaboration of macro-categories of corrective actions aimed at a complete adaptation to sector regulations, and, on the basis of these, the definition of specific and punctual actions responding to optimization and efficiency criteria.” (Simone Bellini – Studio Alfa Collaborator) implemented with optics developed ad hoc by the manufacturer to overcome challenging installation conditions. In the historic centre and prestigious areas, products with classic design have been used –Crotone and LQ093 –, preserving in some contexts the original lanterns, which Ghisamestieri has restored and converted to LED technology through the supply of retrofit kits or more complex operations of restoration. The choice of low colour temperatures (3,500°K, 3,000°K, and 2,200°K), to reduce the typical blue component of LED sources and to achieve the desired chromatic effect in the various contexts of the city, did not compromise the performance of the appliances, which have reached or exceeded the performance levels required by the project. The urban lighting upgrade will be completed once the installation of about four thousand laFoglia model street lamps has been completed. All products have been supplied in a tools free version (with LED modules and drivers replaceable without the use of tools, to facilitate maintenance and technological upgrading) and are equipped with an automatic night-time dimming system, to reduce consumption at night, when traffic is reduced. In some products of the historic centre, point-to-point systems for managing the luminous flux and the related energy consumption have been implemented. “The upgrade of the system will lead to an almost 60% in energy savings, with a significant increase in lighting and safety levels in some critical areas and a clear environmental pollution reduction in terms of CO2 emissions.” (Engr. Andrea Bonni – coordinator of the project - ASM Vercelli) Via del Duomo Crotone a sospensione e a tesata / Crotone, suspended from lighting poles or cables The intervention led to the replacement of obsolete equipment with new Ghisamestieri LED products, the company selected by the public tender for supplying. “The design approach was not limited to the individual replacement of the lighting fixtures. Based on lighting simulations conducted in collaboration between designers and builders, differentiated interventions have been predisposed, correcting and rationalizing the installation geometries.” (Engr. Mattia Filippo Pagliai – Studio Alfa Collaborator) The choice of the most suitable models for replacement has focused on elements with important furnishing characteristics, capable of combining lighting function, visual comfort, and aesthetic value. To maintain the stylistic continuity of the circle of avenues (which enclose the city centre), the Piattello model was selected, LUCE 330 11
