is often managed by an App or touch-panels . However , if we wish to be surprised by a traditional looking casing , with a nanotechnological soul , we must take a look at the Zeno projector by Targetti , which has an “ LCD electronic beam shaper ”. Depending on the digital impulse , it is able to modify the aperture of the beam that is emitted , allowing regulations that once required manual adjustments on light units that could be regulated , and sometimes these were positioned at heights that were not particularly easy to reach . The concept of governing the photometrics of light flow and knowing its potentiality with a more accurate definition , has brought the debate increasingly in the direction of a description of the potentiality of the lighting units depending on their specific optic characteristics . In this sense , in the office sector , in order to show the energy and ideas directed at facing the workplace where people spend most of their time , there has been an increase in studies and research related to the physiological wellbeing of the users . The close respect of special regulations , and in particular the European Standard , and the inclusion of criteria to protect the circadian rhythm , with the purpose of increasing levels of concentration and productivity of the workers , have become fundamental elements in developing and engineering new products .
Not only light The exhibited lighting units often use dynamic white when they are for the office sector , and this allows a complete reconsideration of the way of conceiving a day at work . In a largesized cube , with access from a circumscribed space on the perimeter , Osram wrote : “ Set inner clock , trigger circadian rhythm , activation , relaxation , balance hormone activity …”. These are slogans that newly launch the topicality of the themes where light is designed to put human beings , whose interaction with light is profitable , in the centre . Most companies which have designed lines of products for the work environment have taken into consideration the benefits of light on physiological harmony . Probably more attention must be focussed on the medical and scientific validity of the proposals which have been marketed , in order to be sure that the expected effects are really those which were hoped for , in line with the natural equilibrium of physiological rhythms . However , the new technologies are not only concerned with health , at times it may occur that the concept of lighting is associated with nature in general , and so we see a product called Acusto by Intra Lighting that contains a true vegetable species in its structure , which is equivalent to a live moss that can survive in a domestic environment , and at the same time carry out a sound absorbing function . This may seem a paradox , but artificial light has gained a totally unexpected role : it has become the pretext to think about the added value that the indoor ambient in architecture and in the urban context can gain in terms of aids for comfort and the pleasure of living in the spaces that have been built , besides making the city easier to live in . From the luminous fabric with Kvadrat Soft Cells by Philips , to the wall with a diffused LED light spreading from the rear of the Experience room by iGuzzini , light becomes an adornment , the adornment becomes an expressive gesture , but also the language of new forms of communication . The outdoor unit Nightspot by Meyer shows how the principle of stage and theatre lighting is possible in the form of a street pole , and designers are invited to qualify parts of the city context with graphic signs that go far beyond functional lighting . Furthermore , some proposals of the new-generation street poles are true multifunctional units , equipped with safety video cameras , electric charging stations , wireless access points , sensors for presence detection and traffic detectors . Street light poles have become a part of a larger context , a network of interconnections , equivalent to light sources in retail stores or museums , that can collect information regarding the rhythm and the number of people during a typical day . For these reasons many manufacturers of lighting units , who were present in Frankfurt , opted for strategic partnerships with software developers for the related electronic component parts

( Casambi , Helvar …). Wireless and Wi-Fi are keywords in designing solutions that are simple from the point of view of plant design , but with a high performance from the point of view of freedom and flexibility in operation . This freedom can increase exponentially in a positive manner or may entail an involutive limit : the lack of a well-structured lighting design is generally accompanied by the absence of a critical , sensitive and competent outlook . The greatest risk that needs to be prevented is the possibility that the technological performance alone may have the upper hand over the true meaning that light can offer in order to improve the conditions of life and how we can enjoy architecture and landscapes , which today , more than ever before , need an added value ! Certainly the sculpture by Jaume Plensa symbolically evokes the bond between light and culture , depicting the curiosity of the young students of the Goethe Universität with regard to an idea of knowledge that , in the Frankfurt night , becomes magical and reassuring .
