Some of these stats comparing racism from last year and this year may surprise you. Since last season (2018-2019) racism has risen by 50% in the last season with a reported 125 incidents which is 43% more since the season before. We are unsure if the number of incidents is increasing because there is more racism in football or if it is because fans, teams and players are reporting incidents more. South Lanarkshire, Thai born resident Beer Sukkoed told us that not enough was done to tackle racist comments he suffered playing football as a teenager. He also said that in his opinion there isn’t enough being done to stop it especially when he played and suffered it.

This article will be discussing how much racism is affecting the game and how much is being done to stop it and if racism in football is reducing or rising in the game.

We start off with our first point which is there being enough done to stop the problem? The FA and UEFA suggest that they are doing enough about it by giving people bans and even in some cases fans are being arrested and fined for racist abuse. But the problem seems to still to be going on so what should be done to stop it? No matter how much the FA and other footballing companies tell fans to stop some just don’t listen - so how are they going to stop is the question.
