his opinion there isn’t enough being done to stop it especially when he played and suffered it. Some fans take the game way too serious and end up doing things that can get them into trouble. An incident in a national England game saw an opposition fan flinging a banana at player Pierre Emirick Abuameyang when he scored against them. This is a racist insult and form of abuse. This fan’s punishment saw him banned for life from all football stadiums. Is this enough of a punishment?
Another incident is when an Italian football team’s fans started making monkey chants at inter-star Romelu Lukaku this is not the first time this has happened, it is frequently chanted in the Polish leagues and the Italian league and other major leagues.

We were lucky enough to get an interview with a South Lanarkshire resident, Beer Sukkoed, who is originally from Thailand to ask him about his experiences with racism in football growing up and how it made him feel and what was done about it. We shall now talk about some of the answers we got from Beer.We asked him how it affected him he said that it made him more determined to do better and show the people who were being racist to show he was better than them. Another question we asked was how did you feel when you received it he answered “it made me feel disappointed because in this day and age everyone should know that everyone is the same it doesn’t matter what colour you skin is or how else you look.”
Let's put a stop to this issue now and make a change for the better. We hope this article has gave you a better understanding of how bad and serious this issue is.
Experiencing racism in your sport?
Beer suggests:
"Try to focus on what you’re doing - focus on your sport or your work. Show up that person who is racist by doing well. Tell an adult that you trust. Don’t feel like you’re on your own with it."
