We are delighted to feature our newest
Lowrance Brand Ambassador - Protea
Spearfisherman and SA record holder,
Guy Le Meme – a total Lowrance fan, who
unashamedly admits that his unit is one of his
“closest companions”! So much so, he even
takes it overseas! But more later…
Like many Durban born and bred youngsters,
the sea has played a major role in Guy’s life
and therefore so has Lowrance products!
During a “boy’s weekend” in the Transkei,
this avid seaman, diver and crayfisherman
was given a speargun by one of his mates –
kickstarting his lasting passion and successful
fishing career.”
A couple of years later, Guy (aged 26)
bought his first boat – a Fibretech C-Ski
with a 40hp Yamaha motor – which was
equipped with an old black and white
Lowrance fishfinder (no GPS) and he’s
been a firm “believer” ever since!
“I’ve never considered other brands,
simply because Lowrance units are
so user-friendly – even for someone
who’s not a gadget guy. Whether you
change or upgrade to more advanced
models, they all follow the same easy-
to-use pattern.” He said. “Once you
can operate a Lowrance unit – you’ll
easily pick up how to use any of their
models. Other brands virtually take
you back to the drawing board when
changes are made – and they’re simply
too complicated.”
