draws near ! Sometimes we think of idols as physical statues of people or gods that people bow down to or give gis to . ose do exist in the world , but idolatry is a far bigger and broader concept than a statue . Listen here to Dr . David Powlison of Christian Counseling & Educational Foundation give an incredibly brief ( 3 minutes ) but helpful explanation of idolatry . It will both comfort and convict you . Pastor Tim Keller also provides helpful words concerning modern idolatry . Summer provides a wonderful opportunity for self reflection and family reflection to consider places where you are allowing other things or other people to have the place in your affections and comforts and peace that actually belong to the LORD . May we all heed John ’ s warning to keep ourselves from idols !
Student Health
We have seen spring allergies affecting the eyes , noses and throats of our students this past month ! As we look ahead to more beautiful May blooms , please keep in mind the clinic does not stock routine antihistamines for your children . Please have them take their doses at home or send extra in a labeled bottle to the nurse for the occasion doses are missed at home .
If you have rising kindergartners or seventh graders , or any new-to-CPA siblings for the upcoming school year , please begin to gather your child ’ s Tennessee Immunization Certificate from their pediatrician . As part of a new process , parents will upload these required forms to MyCPA . ese forms are due to be submitted by July 31 . It is also a great time to schedule a sports physical if they participate in K-5 athletics or are rising sixth grade for Wellness class . ank you and have a wonderful summer break , Lions !
