AB: Obviously it’s made to make
fun of the situation but it seems
to me, again I’m saying this from
almost like seeing it from an
outside point of view, it seems
the American society is really
trying to dumb down people.
KK: Absolutely! It’s crazy. People
don’t just have any idea. They’re
just watching all these things
that aren’t pertained to what
we really need to be putting our
focus on and the importance
of it. I worked for a local food
policy for a year. I was a head of
childhood nutrition and so what
I was doing was coordinating
school gardens with our school district
of about 160 schools. We had about a

with the Coalition of other agencies
in town where we’re really going in
and educating kids about where food
comes from because guess what? Kids
have no idea. It’s really crazy and
one of the reasons why we’ve done
this urban farming thing is because
I grew up in a farm. I want my kids
to have that same experience and
understand where food comes from.
I have done these really great
programs where we have created this
kitchen cart so the kids grow the food
in the gardens and they harvest it and
