As the students walked in Mr. Hall says he was wearing a suit with two different shoes. He was wearing one Jordan Sneaker and on the other foot he wore a hard business shoe. The very first question raised from one of the students was “why do you have on two different shoes bro?” Confident to respond, Hall explains that it is his symbol to show that he can relate to the young guys with the same interest but he can also inspire them with his maturity. After a very successful first program the group is starting to evolve. They have received many phone calls from schools outside their original community. But let’s rewind back to the start of success! In August 2012 Rashamod Torrance, project inspire team’s president, phoned Hall one evening with the BIG idea!
He suggested that the two reach out to others and get involved in the community. The idea was formed from recognition of a clear deficiency. Hall states “It is an effort to fill the void in the generation beneath us; we have decided not to see an issue call it out and now try to change it”. After gathering ideas and suggestions the two gathered a group of Panelist with different abilities to inspire. Then the Magic Began! More recently the members have begun a tie drive. Ties will be donated to the members and then used to teach young men how to properly tie their own ties including bowties. The young men of Project Inspire are applauded for their brave and courageous work. When I asked the final question, what is the overall Goal? Hall responded, “To become nationwide and create an all-boys school”.
