It is with immense pride that I congratulate Dr. Aneeta Bhatia on her election as President of the Greater Louisville Medical Society. As a physician who has trained hundreds of residents in cardiac anesthesia, I can say firsthand that she shaped not only my clinical skills but my philosophy as a physician, a foundation that has guided my career. A board-certified anesthesiologist and Fellow of the Royal College of Anesthesiologists with over 30 years of experience, she has trained physicians, authored landmark book chapters, spoken at international conferences and pioneered life-saving programs including a cardiogenic shock initiative and the Perioperative Surgical Home at UofL Health. As Chief of Staff, she has been an unwavering champion of quality, safety and patient-centered care. What distinguishes her most, however, is her heart for community. She has spent decades launching free healthcare fairs, advocating for underserved patients and empowering those around her. GLMS could not be in better hands, and it is an honor to watch her lead.

Dr. Aneeta Bhatia is someone I have had the privilege of knowing for several years, both through work and in the community. My wife and I are also fortunate to call her a friend. What stands out most about Dr. Bhatia is her ability to combine professional excellence with genuine warmth and humility.
I have worked with her through our shared involvement on the board of the Greater Louisville Medical Society. In that role, I have seen firsthand her thoughtful approach to leadership. She listens carefully, respects different perspectives and brings people together with a clear focus on what is best for patients and physicians. She leads with purpose, but also with kindness.
Dr. Bhatia brings more than three decades of experience in cardiac anesthesia and perioperative care. She is widely respected as a clinician and educator, and many physicians she has trained continue to look up to her as a mentor.
Her involvement with the Greater Louisville Medical Society reflects her dedication to the broader physician community. She understands the importance of advocacy, unity and building relationships, and she approaches each responsibility with sincerity and purpose. Her work in developing the cardiogenic shock program in Kentucky is one example of her commitment to improving patient care in a meaningful way.
Outside of medicine, she is just as thoughtful and grounded. In the community, she brings the same sincerity and sense of connection that define her professional life.
To us, Dr. Bhatia is more than a colleague. She is a trusted friend and a person we deeply respect. She leads with both skill and heart, and that truly sets her apart. The Greater Louisville Medical Society is fortunate to have her leadership, and I have no doubt she will continue to make a meaningful and lasting impact.
