A Day at Xanadu

by Timir Banerjee, MD
I journeyed to my apiary garden this morning In the mule, my two canine companions had jumped in, Greta in front and Bella in the back to see what was happening. The bees were sipping the flowers to get the most for the day The rays of sunshine ballooned my mind’ s genoa and propelled us on our way.
The peacocks were having a gala day, The pigs cantered by us to sit under the peach trees and pray. I was intoxicated by dreaming of Coleridge’ s“ Pleasure dome decree.”
The proud poppies standing and gossiping with an adventurous bee Like teenagers with red tams on their heads dancing frivolously and carefree Their thin necks swaying in breeze next to the big walnut tree They were standing and swaying free. On a carpet of viola hastata, golden rod, milk weed, aster and flowery charcuterie.
The peonies were curtsying to the natural scenery Expressing gratitude for their voluptuous bounty.
The crepe myrtle, azaleas and camellias shivered in excitement of the day.
I sat in the mule caressed by the beauty Dreaming of the future, wishing it to be zesty And peeking at the days gone by in my mind’ s secret eye As is often the case in such a blissful day. The joy of knowing that I can appreciate nature without fear of a foray.
A future full of adventures of a wrasse and iridescent as the Enrosadira I hoped the luminosity of happiness to last much longer than the day.
