activate .” Thus , over time your glutes weaken . Your risk for back or thigh injury goes up . Desk jockeys are not known for their leaping ability or enviable curves . Long flights and bus rides have the same dampening effect on your glutes , so “ Get up and move about the cabin .” ( That always makes me laugh , O Airline Captain . I believe you simply mean walk up and down that narrow aisle …).
As with most medical problems , prevention is way better than fixing . Do squats , do lunges , do lateral leg lifts ( hold on to something !), extend one straight leg behind you at an angle – are you holding on to something ? Extend your straight leg out to the side – both of these things slowly , with intention . Do a one-legged glute bridge . Do a wall sit – verrrrrry carefully . Stand on one leg only , as long as you can – yes , while holding onto something .
Come to Jazzercise ! Or fitness or yoga or something else formal where a trained person leads you to towards a Better Butt . After all , who doesn ’ t want one ?
