Before she was a doctor , Pat Purcell was a mother — my mother . For the first eight years of my life , she was a stay-at-home mom to my brother and me until she enrolled in medical school . Looking back now , with the perspective provided by my own children , I am awestruck at how she completed medical school , residency and thrived in a demanding practice all while slipping love notes into my school lunches and cheering me on at horseback riding lessons . She will attribute her success to a love of coffee , but I know she thrives now for the same reasons she thrived then : she centers her life around the things she loves - medicine and family ( with a bit of baking ). She has always been a model mother and pediatrician for me , teaching me how to center my life , balance career and family , and prioritize what one loves most . Kendall Purcell
Visiting a pediatrician can be stressful , especially in a new city . When we met Dr . Pat Purcell , our once hectic experiences with health care were transformed into something calm , genuine and personable . She quickly became a friend , role model and someone we could trust with everything . Being an esteemed professional , Dr . P cared for our four boys and identified issues others had not . We are so grateful for her intuition . We have connected with Pat on many different levels , from medical to social , to her love of cooking and outdoors , from parenting advice and family love , our bond means the world to us . Over 20 years ago our paths crossed , what was at first a simple office visit has blossomed into an everlasting friendship our entire family cherishes . The Willett Family is proud and honored to have this amazing , incredible woman in our lives . Congratulations to Pat on her new endeavor !
