Norton Heart & Vascular Institute and UK Gill Heart & Vascular Institute are joining forces to expand services in heart failure , ventricular assist device placement and heart transplants for Kentuckians .
This collaboration allows patients in and around Louisville access to a program with over three decades of successful heart transplant experience . Now , patients can receive care close to home while awaiting that life-saving procedure . Once the procedure is complete , patient care will continue jointly between the UK Transplant Center and the Norton Heart & Vascular Institute Advanced Heart Failure and Recovery team — a network of support focused on long-term success .
