“ There ’ s a lot of great things going on in the arena of communications and IT ,” said Guinn . “ It ’ s an exciting time for us with a lot of moving parts coming together .”
Those moving parts include an increased social media presence through Facebook , Twitter , LinkedIn and more , as well as the introduction of our GLMS podcast and video channels . Available on www . glms . org , these pages will feature messages from the president and more interesting content to benefit members in the near future .
Communication is an essential aspect of the GLMS mission , not just between our organization and physicians but also among physicians and insurance providers . This year , the GLMS Physician Education and Practice Support ( PEPS ) Department hosted several interactive roundtables featuring representatives from insurance companies and Medicaid providers . These roundtables allowed a setting for physicians and practice managers to discuss payment and service issues with providers in a direct , face-to-face manner . PEPS continues to work year-round to provide physicians the assistance and representation they need . Numerous specific issues have been resolved between payers and our member practices via this service . Don ’ t forget that any member can easily submit an insurer hassle report online and GLMS will work to get your issue ( s ) resolved .
