Stanley Druckenmiller
Stanley started out as an oil analyst for the Pittsb
urgh National Bank. Having graduated from Bow
doin College, Stanley changed many jobs. First,
he left PNB to create Duquesne Capital Manage
ment in the year 1981, and then he started to wo
rk for George Soros in 1988. Working with Georg
e Soros proved excellent for Stanley, because no
t only did he garner over 30% return in the Quant
um Fund, he also contributed to the deal which e
arned both him and Soros over $1 billion; this wa
s the deal which “broke the Bank of England”.
He returned to Duquesne in 2000 and now works
full-time there; he has also started a non-profit
organization dedicated to educating people of all
ages.
