Be Well, Be U!
Ms Bonnie's Wellness Corner
You want to lose weight or you’re tired or weak, well…..
Eat Bananas... DON’T EAT BANANAS
Suck Lemons... DON’T SUCK LEMONS!
It’s all so confusing! Don’t be discouraged, there is a very simple answer: say good-bye to normal and hello to YOUR body.
Doctors will quote the ‘normal’ body temperature, blood pressure, respiration, and heart rate as determined by the American Medical Association (AMA). Problem is the doctors won’t tell us that these ‘normals’ were set almost 100 years ago. That would be valid if we all lived, played, worked, and ate today as our parents and grandparents did, unfortunately we don’t.
Our bodies are very unique machines. The human body was designed to heal and rejuvenate itself with the correct ‘fuel’. Just like your car runs on gas, you wouldn’t fill the tank with water.
Why would you fill your tank with junk? Okay; now that I got your attention think about how you feel – REALLY FEEL – right now!? When our parents were younger and got sick grandma didn’t take mom/dad to the doctor or run to the drug store for medicine. Grandma went to the kitchen.
If the problem was a headache, the remedy was a cup of tea w/honey and lemon: at the first sign of a cold, 2oz of garlic water a day for 2-3 days was administered: gas, heartburn, bladder disorder were treated with baking soda water 3 times a day. Get the idea? Natural home remedies; and they worked!
So let’s talk about treatments and cures – FOOD! Fresh fruits and vegetables and yes – meat too. When you shop, shop in ‘color’. Green, red, yellow, orange, white, and purple fruits & veggies all contain enzymes, antioxidants, and natural nutrients that fight cancer. In fact, garlic is natures’ natural anti-biotic!
So leave the processed foods on the shelf in the stores, get out of McDs and get back in the kitchen. Leave the preservatives in the labs. Monosodium Glutimate (MSG) is one of the most dangerous preservative to humans and is found in almost all processed and packaged foods. MSG can cause a variety of health conditions. Our parents and grandparents “lived” without the ‘junk’, we need to learn to “live” without the ‘junk’ too.
