The impact of food allergy
The symptoms can include:
� rashes( usually very itchy); � tingling sensation in the mouth; � swelling of the lips, tongue, face and throat; � difficulty breathing; � diarrhoea and / or vomiting; � abdominal cramps; � and on rare occasions anaphylaxis.
it is estimated that 1-2 % of adults and 5-8 % of children have a food allergy. This is around 4 million people living in Italy with a food allergy which does not include those with food intolerances such as lactose intolerance and coeliac disease.
