Crushing their Opponents
H
eidolph Instruments’ SilentCrusher M range of homogenisers features patented high-speed,
magnetic driveless technology with a
maintenance-free motor. It also features
a magnet coil drive for smooth operation and extremely low noise. This is
a feature that cannot be found in any
other homogeniser brand in the marketplace. Its applications under vacuum
run down to 20mbar or pressure up to
6bar. The unique and driveless technology allows for uncountable years of
maintenance-free operation, eliminating down times and spare part costs.
These homogenisers are perfect for
cleanroom applications because they
operate with no fan. Their scope of
application ranges from biotechnology,
sample preparation in medicine, enzymatic treatment in the food industry as
well as applications in pharmaceutical,
cosmetic, paint, lacquer and petrochemistry. They are available with high
quality tools that are easy to clean, sterilise and attach. These tools are made
Light Up Your Lab
L

imaging systems and Molecular
Probes® reagents give scientists a
groundbreaking way to look at cells.
EVOS cell imaging systems
Whether one is capturing images
for publication, teaching or research,
an EVOS system is a must-have in the
lab for cell imaging. From cell culture
to complex protein analysis to multichannel f luorescence imaging, these
cell imaging systems help to perform a
variety of routine and specialty applications. Their proprietary LED light cube
technology minimises photobleaching,
offers over 50 000 hours of
LED illumination and permits
precise intensity adjustments
with no dark room and no
consumables costs. Designed
to eliminate the complexities of microscopy without
compromising performance, this
line of cell imaging systems makes cell
imaging accessible to almost every lab
and budget. Find out the cell imaging
system for you at lifetechnologies.

Calculating resuspension volumes,
aliquoting, pipetting or trying to find
imaging reagents in the freezer? Admit
it - you hate them all. Here is some good
news. ReadyProbes™ ready-to-use
imaging reagents come in room temperature, stable dropper-bottle format, so
preparing samples is as simple as adding
two drops to the cells. Fluorescent cell
imaging could not be simpler. Check

Taking Comfort in
Combined Water Systems
T
he arium® comfort I and II combined laboratory water systems are
designed for the production of ultrapure
and pure water for standard application.
Featuring advanced purification technologies, these systems deliver ASTM Type
I and Type III water all in one unit or
ASTM Type I and Type II, depending
on the version selected.
These water systems deliver up to 2l of
ASTM Type I water per minute. They
also consistently provide very high water
quality for applications, guaranteeing
reproducible results. Moreover, their
compact footprint saves valuable space
in the laboratory. The systems allow one
to navigate intuitively using the clearly
structured arium menu. A light touch
on the display is all it takes for error-free
control, even while wearing gloves. The
185/254nm UV lamp not only prevents
microbiological growth but also minimises total organic compounds in purified
water. Pure water is stored in the closed
arium bagtank system. An integrated
venting filter with check valve on the bag
securely protects against CO2 contamination requiring no cleaning agents for
sanitisation. The iJust control unit optimises water consumption and the quality
of the product water. The arium software
controls a valve corresponding to the
measurement data for CaCO3 and
CO2. Benefits include optimised
economic water consumption,
premium product water quality
and longer life of downstream
ultrapure water systems. ⚛
