Koehler’s Automatic Density Metre
K
oehler’s range includes a wide
variety of benchmark analytical
instruments including the automatic
density metre, the Koehler K86200,
which uses the mechanical oscillator
method of determination.
The K86200 can determine concentration in a variety of formats. With the
use of the VideoView™ Bubble Detection’s live on-screen video viewing at
10× magnifications, there is no more
straining to see small difficult-to-detect
air bubbles in the sample.
This density metre can also provide
a range of analysis of raw materials,
production blend ratios and product
release requirements for QC purposes.
The software enables the development
of unique measurement applications and
creates a test method using an unlimited
number of concentration tables and formulae to match the density measurement
methods used in the laboratory.
So whether one requires a density
measurement for developing a new
pharmaceutical application, or testing
to meet QC requirements, the K86200
can provide the solution. Its touchscreen control and Windows-based
navigation architecture is also intuitive.
Density can be used to characterise
the quality of crude oils, light and heavy
fractions of petroleum and petroleum
products. The test method covers the
determination of the density or the
relative density of crude oils, petroleum
distillates and viscous oils that can be
handled in a normal fashion as liquids
are at test temperatures between 15

ADU 5 automatic distillation
unit. The ADU 5 is a fully automated,
compact, stand-alone distillation unit
that is operated by a touchscreen interface. This makes it the ideal solution for
performing high-precision atmospheric
distillation tests.
The complete ready-to-go system
occupies a minimum amount of laboratory space and masters all standard
fuel distillation test measurements. It
comes ready for the determination of
biodiesel and ethanol-blended gasoline,
and is prepared for automatic dry point
detection. Testing and results are in full
