Science and the Bible HY W History Supports SELF-HEALING Great physicians through the ages have recognized that true healing can only be accomplished by the body itself. The ancient Greek physician Hippocrates, (460 BC – 360 BC) considered the father of medicine, is credited with saying: “Let food be thy medicine, and medicine be thy food.” Even in Jesus’ day, physicians were not successful in curing disease. In MARK 5: 25-26 we read “And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years, and had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse.” The simple truth of the matter is that no one can drug the body into health. The body alone can restore health when we provide the conditions that support our God-given, innate, self-healing. When we eat a diet high in living (raw), plant-based foods — raw vegetables, fruit, nuts, and seeds — the body is provided with what it needs to properly nourish its cells, enabling it to begin rebuilding its self-healing ability to repair disease-damaged cells, tissues, and organs. The protective phytochemicals in raw, plant-based foods strengthen the body’s natural tendency to maintain normalcy (i.e. disease resistance). Raw fruits are the best cleansers of the human body, and raw vegetables are the best feeders and healers. Science PROVES A Biblical Diet The Bible is more than a spiritual book, it contains God’s intentions for our physical health! Specifically, we need to eat the food God recommends for our God-given bodies; the food He originally intended when He first created us: “Behold, I have given you every herb [vegetable] bearing seed, w
