Living at Keele Accommodation Guide 2016/17 | Page 9
Convenience on your doorstep
Some of our students claim they don’t
ever leave campus as everything they
need is so close at hand. At the heart
of campus we have a small supermarket,
a newsagents, Blackwell’s bookshop,
a Costa, a takeaway, a choice of bars
and eateries, plus the Students’ Union
which is home to more catering outlets,
lots of social space and a shop selling
food, stationery and Keele branded
merchandise. From a practical point
of view we also have a health centre
on campus, a pharmacy and post office
services available at the newsagents.
Don’t let that stop you checking out
what the nearby towns have to offer
too, there’s plenty to make the most
of during your time at Keele.
Newcastle-under-Lyme
Newcastle-under-Lyme is the closest
town to campus, with a friendly and
welcoming feel. It has a modern
shopping area, lots of bars, pubs
cafes and restaurants, plus four big
supermarkets within walking distance
of the bus station. It also has a daily
market selling everything from fruit
to furniture.
In the centre of Newcastle you’ll
find the Lymelight Boulevard
which is home to an eight screen
