2.3.1 URBAN FEATURES

Located in the heart of 6th of October City, the
AAA acts as a commercial and recreational hub
for the surrounding districts. Many landmarks
surround the area and emphasise its status as
an active hub. Primarily, the 6th of October Uni-
versity (Figure 11) as well as its library, are both
adjacent to the AAA Today, students constitute
one of the largest demographics of residents
and users in this zone. The nearby al-Hossary
Mosque (Figure 12) is one of the city’s most
prominent landmarks, attracting a large num-
ber of visitors during prayer times and during
Friday sermons.
