RETRO THE 5 GREATEST GAMES OF ALL TIME! This list is my own personal top 5, so take it with an extreme amount of bias. Now with that out of the way, let’s get stuck in! SUPER MARIO WORLD - [email protected] SUPER NINTENDO Let’s start this list off by thinking big! When I say big, I mean the largest overworld map of any Mario game at the time. Subtitled “Super Mario Bros. 4” in Japan, this Super Nintendo launch title is, to this day, the pinnacle of the series. Following on from the events of Super Mario Bros. 3, Mario and Luigi are now joined by the many coloured dinosaur Yoshi. The controls feel more fluid than the previous three games which makes it a joy to play, and the difficulty is pitched at just the right level. With many hidden surprises and secret levels, it really is no wonder that Super Mario World is the first game that comes to mind when someone starts talking about the “greatest games ever”. SNK VS CAPCOM: MATCH OF THE MILLENIUM - NEO GEO POCKET During 1999 and the early 2000s rivals SNK and Capcom teamed up to deliver a series of games featuring characters from their respective rosters. A majority of the games released were beat em ups, though there were 4 SNK vs Capcom card clash games, the most recent of which is available on the DS should you be able to track down a copy. Match of the Millennium was the first title in the series and it made full use of the Neo Geo Pocket’s control stick, which was perfect for fighting games. For the first time you could pit Ryu and Iori Yagami against each other, or team up Ken Masters and Terry Bogard. There were hidden characters, mini games, and the
