1.0 Event Overview
The Sheffield Duathlon for Age UK was held on the 5th March 2017 in aid of Age UK Sheffield. There were two races, a ‘GO-TRI’ Duathlon, and a family ‘give it a go’ event. Attendees competed individually and as team, raising £30 sponsorship. A market area showcased local suppliers, Forge Radio provided music and young professionals from Sheffield Wednesday Football Club visited with their mascot.
The aim was to create an event legacy providing an inclusive, profitable opportunity, coinciding with the charity’s core values. To achieve this, Momentum Events set objectives:
• Provide professional customer service during all communication, extending the charities reach for events to new audiences.
• Create a sustainable event for future repetition. Create a handover document and provide networking contact details to aid this process.
• See 50 people take part in the Duathlon, using multiple events to generate a buzz across the local community, encouraging activity.
• Raise £1000 profit, generating a 4:1 profit ratio.
• Evaluate the design, build and strategy pre, during and post-event.
