4.3 Staffing & volunteers
This aspect did not go as planned because only 12/21 volunteers turned up, a 42.9% drop out rate, higher than the planned 25% (Booker, 2016; Shapiro, 2016). This may have been due to the weather conditions but despite this, the event site remained safe throughout the day, showing that volunteer locations and numbers were planned correctly. The volunteer feedback survey showed positive results, revealing that despite the awful weather, these individuals felt extremely valued (88.89%), were informed and supported (100%) and gained worthwhile experience (88.89%). These figures show that Momentum Events achieved the objective of treating volunteers in a respectful and caring manner.
