2.4 Suppliers
It was important for Momentum Events to build relationships with potential suppliers to gain the necessary event services. All team members adopted these responsibilities and approached companies asking for support. Unfortunately, an event sponsor was not secured due to the brief time scale available, however, many organisations were keen to help due to the high profile of the Age UK Sheffield (Garecht, 2016). The following support was secured:
Chip Timing Solutions- bike racking and crowd barriers.
UK Event Medical- first aid.
Yorkshire Water- 300 bottles of water.
Gaffertape.com- box of assorted adhesive tape.
GO Cable Ties- box of assorted cable ties.
Medals Direct- finishers medals.
Market Stalls- 13 different stalls; food, face painting, books and art.
Raffle Prizes- over £1000 worth of prizes.
All the supplier’s details were kept securely on a spreadsheet so that Momentum Events could keep in regular contact and ensure that all areas were organised. The completion dates for all of these areas were mapped in a Gantt chart to keep track of all of the necessary planning tasks.
