What She Promised
I love promises They excite me They keep my mind racing They keep me close, and- They can destroy me.
She knew all this And pushed her words further into my mind, Making my heart vulnerable As my thoughts of our future Filled with a hope of an infinite space. These promises she planted Into that untouched soil in my soul It grew and grew and I let it thrive Blindly attracted to its graceful essence. And to what I expected of what it will become I was so sure of it As from spring to summer And all my worries vanished
