Well, this was a book that completely took my heart and didn’t let it go until the very last page. O’Roark knows how to pack a mean punch—meaning she brought the angst, the romance, and the absolute need to punch anyone who dare get in the main characters way.
Undertow follows a they main couple for years; even decades. They become friends as small children and eventually fall in love as teenagers. Only to be torn apart and left broken. This is a story of social status, first love, heartbreak, and hope.
After they’re both left broken, years have gone by before they see each other again. The pain never really left them but now they both have a life they had to learn to live without the other.
My heart hurt for these two characters who had a love most people dream about. Sometimes though, it’s just not meant to be. Or is it? Maura and Nate were quite simply, amazing. I could feel the love and the chemistry the two had for each other. The angst was the best part of the book and at times all I wanted to go was throw my kindle against the wall.
I recommend this for readers who enjoy a good second chance romance and a couple who wants to go against all odds. You can’t help but root for Nate and Maura as they struggle with their feelings and ultimately their love. It’s unstoppable.
