I didn’t spend a dime on the entire thing, and I’m so glad I didn’t. I’ve received plenty of compliments on the cover, and although it isn’t award winning Van Gogh, it’s suitable for getting out there on my first run as an author!

This is what I used, and it worked a treat! Getting me just the right dimensions for my paperback when designing.

I spent one day (out of my 30 day free trial with Picmonkey) playing around with the website and watching YouTube videos on how to use the software, and afterwards, I crafted my cover with my free images, on my free editing program, and uploaded it to Kindle Direct Publishing with no hassle at all. All easy to use.

At the end of the day, you’re going to get people profiting largely on new authors who just want a shot at telling their own adventures and stories. Don’t give into them.

There are some amazing cover designers out there who aren’t going to rip you off, and they’re diamonds in the rough. Use this knowledge until finding your perfect match!

I hope this has been as informative and as helpful as I intended it to be, as coming into this community, I had next to no money and no real budget to throw into the pot where my beloved book was the main ingredient. Though after learning some tips and tricks on the way, I discovered the right things to use and where to put my money.
