My name is Cindy Acosta and I’m a 12th grader. I
started writing poetry my sophomore year in High
School and since then it’s been my passion. Poetry
has been a way of expressing my thoughts and
emotions. As for taking the class “Advanced
Composition”, it has made me feel like a writer and
find my true writing skills. This class has developed
my writing skills in a creative way and has made me
feel good about not only myself, but as well my
writing.
I am 17 years old. I have lived in Bell
Gardens all my life. I like to run and I love to
eat. My favorite word is scrumtrulescent. I
was the Track and Cross Country Captain. I
have a bae for life. I enjoy writing because
you can write whatever you want whether
you’re good at it or not. It’s a great way to
express yourself and discover who you are.
My name is Justin Vidal, a senior from the class of
2016. And yes, I’m graduating. I grew up in Cudahy
loving to play sports but I also liked writing and
reading. I moved to Bell Gardens in 2008 and
continued to write and I also joined the football team
and played six years. I love sports but I loved
writing first. Writing is my legal drug and I can
escape not caring what format I use to produce.
Essays, poems, short stories, raps are my favorite of
all time. I hope to one day produce something that
will impact at least one kid. I will never stop writing
and people should take advantage and write out their
thoughts, frustrations, or anything that will stand out.
Our voice is everything.
