VOCAB
Nobody was badly hurt; I just injured my ankle a bit. My brother
rubbed it with ointment, and my ankle was still swollen the next day. I
felt uneasy about my ankle because my dad was very upset when we
got hurt. When one of my siblings or I had accidents, my dad punished
us badly. He said we were not careful when we were doing something.
My father did not realize that I had had an accident because I just told
him I had twisted my ankle. It healed very soon, and nothing happened
to me or my siblings.
Later on, like a month after, I was feeding Vicrobich, because that
was one of my chores in our house. He was my horse. My dad told to
me that I had to take care of him. It was an afternoon when I took the
horse to the barn. I gave to him some hay, and I began rubbing his
neck and touching his beautiful mane. Vicrobich was angry that day, or
maybe he did not like the fact that I disrupted him when he was eating.
First, he tried to kick my buttocks, but I was close to his neck. And then
he bit my chest and tore the skin.
After that day, I was afraid of Vicrobich, never rode on him, and
never fed him again. Three months later, my father sold him to a friend.
He was young, only seven months, and untamed.
