Renovated Courtyard by CCS Student, Eagle Scout
You may recall that CCS junior Joshua Schmid began planning his Eagle Scout project last spring. Cornerstone was blessed to be the recipient of his project, as he wanted to renovate the courtyard outside the McLain cafeteria. Joshua organized the help of several classmates, friends, and his family over the weekend of August 17-19. He and his team scraped and repainted the metal railings, power-washed the cement walls, and trimmed the surrounding bushes. He built two hexagonal picnic tables to be placed into the courtyard, which have already been used by the high school students during their lunch periods.
Thank you, Joshua and your team, for blessing your school in such a significant way!
This year, we tried something new! We decided to celebrate coming back to school with a picnic and outdoor movie night the last Saturday before school began. This was a great chance for new students and their families to meet returning students and their families. We also had the pleasure of having the Whey Station, a gourmet grilled cheese food truck owned by the Moskites family of CCS, available for supper purchases. They generously donated a portion of their sales back to CCS, too! Thank you to everyone who came out and joined us in the first celebration of the 2018-2019 school year!
We rejoice in God's provision of our new student enrollment; the 2018-2019 budget was designed around an enrollment 177 full-time equivalent students (considering partial days for Pre-K students), and we have met that goal!
We are grateful for God's provision of our newest faculty members: Mrs. Cynthia Bezz (Grade 5 Teacher), Pastor Mark Santostefano (High School Bible Teacher), and Mrs. Jennifer Beatty (K-5 Art & MS/HS Drama Teacher).
Pray for enrollment to remain steady throughout the school year, and pray that God will continue to fill our Preschool classroom, as we still have a few spaces available.

Thank You to the PTFA!
Each year, the PTFA uses proceeds from their fundraisers to provide all CCS faculty/staff and students with a free theme shirt. If you would like to participate in the PTFA's planning for the year ahead, consider attending their monthly meetings. This month, however, they will be meeting twice: at 3:15 in the elementary foyer on 9/10 and 9/24.
