OCTOBER 2024

THE LION'S ROAR

3

As the weather cools and the leaves change, we begin to prepare for "thanks-giving!" The next few months are full of opportunities to reflect on all that God is and all that He has done for us. Have you ever stopped to think about how many times God mentions giving thanks in His Word?

We asked our CCS faculty and staff to share their favorite verse(s) about giving thanks. This month we encourage you to read through these verses, meditating on His Word and offering your thanks to Him.

Psalm 100:1-5 (NIV):

“Shout for joy to

the LORD, all the earth.

Worship the LORD with gladness; come before him with joyful songs. Know that the LORD is God. It is he who

made us, and we are his; we are his people, the

sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and

praise his name. For the LORD is good and

his love endures forever; his faithfulness

continues through all generations.”

— Mrs. Jennifer Brey

Colossians 3:15 (ESV)

"And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to

which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful."

— Mrs. Joy Press

Psalm 28:7

"The Lord is my strength and my shield; in him my heart trusts, and I am helped; my heart exalts,

and with song I give thanks

to him."

— Mrs. Jennifer Elliott

1 Chronicles 16:34 (NIV):

“Give thanks to the LORD, for he is

good; his love endures forever.”

— Dr. Charity Baker

Hebrews 12:28

"Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably

with reverence and awe..."

— Mrs. Tara A.M.

Philippians 4:6-7 (NIV):

“…do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

And the peace of God, which transcends

all understanding, will guard your hearts

and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

— Mrs. Tammy Choleva

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (ESV):

"Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the

will of God in Christ Jesus for you."

— Mrs. Tonya Snyder and

Mr. Ed Campolongo
