TEACHER FEATURE (continued from p. 2)
Meet Mrs. Pamela Roberts
Q. How do you build relationships with students?
I initiate conversations with them and listen to what is important to them. One way I connect
with my homeroom students is to take their prayer requests in the morning. That helps me to know what is on their hearts and minds and what they are dealing with.
Q. Any teachers that inspired you growing up?
I had a high school math teacher who was good at asking questions and made sure you knew what
you were doing.
Q. Do you have any funny stories that happened to you as a teacher?
When I was homeschooling my kids, they used to make volcanos. In 6th grade, we were talking
about chemical reactions in the snowbank. One of the boys fell into the snowbank, so I didn’t see that one of the other groups poured in too much baking soda and vinegar!
Q. Did you always know you wanted to teach middle school?
I student taught high school and only observed middle school. They were funny, and they didn't care about being silly! I love to teach this age group.
Q. What college do you attend?
I went to Eastern Nazarene College.
Q. Why did you come to Cornerstone?
I prayed about the opening here after talking to Mrs. S and Mrs. Clark. By Sunday, I came in contact with three former students whose lives I had really impacted. I saw that as a sign from God to apply.
Q. How do you unwind after school?
I love going for walks, being outside with a cup of tea, and doing a puzzle.
Q. Do you have any pets?
I have a golden retriever named Ranger.
