Accreditation Visit Commendation #3 (of 5)
The accreditation team highly commended CCS in five specific areas, as determined during the process of evaluating and recommending the school for a full 7-year renewal of ACSI and MSA accreditation. The team stated the following:
"The faculty, staff and administration demonstrate a deep and abiding devotion to Christ, exemplify a clear understanding of the mission and vision of CCS, and create a loving, nurturing, welcoming community for all members of CCS."
(Indicator 4.1)
Cornerstone is deeply committed to providing a complete education from a biblical perspective. This commitment requires that all faculty and staff members be active participants in their home churches, embrace the school's mission and vision, and professionally commit to developing the skills needed to provide a developmentally appropriate learning environment that is inviting and welcoming to all constituents.
When you think of giving or receiving a favorite Christmas gift, you may not naturally think of enrolling at a school; however, for Mia Tarricone, finding a Cornerstone enrollment packet under the tree was her favorite gift this year! Mia had previously attended CCS for four years; but, after her family moved to a new home, they decided to try the public school in their town for the current school year. While her parents, Chris and Jen, have had a mostly positive experience at Mia’s public school, they felt God was prompting them to return to their “family” at CCS. Because of this nagging feeling, they began praying until God confirmed that they should step out in faith and re-enroll their daughter for the next year.
When asked why they decided to make the switch back to CCS, they were very clear about their reasons. They said, “At CCS, there is a sense of community. We know we can’t raise our daughter by ourselves. We need the support of others around us. Here at CCS, we know Mia feels at home, and she can trust those around her. The teachers love the kids unconditionally, and Mia knows she can go to any one of them.
We have seen our daughter blossom since she started attending CCS at four years old. She was a very shy child; but since then, we feel like she’s turning into the child she is supposed to be. We notice that the kids at CCS are happy, the teachers have a joy in their teaching, and they are not just there because they have to be. CCS is a wonderful environment, and you can feel that just by walking in the door. At the end of the day, we want to know that she will be standing in her faith. We want her to be surrounded by those who will help build her faith day by day, hour by hour, minute by minute.”
We are so glad to welcome back the Tarricone family!
...a deep and abiding devotion to Christ...
