Our lunchtime Career Chats are off to a great start! This has proven to be an excellent way for students to learn about a variety of careers--some they didn't know existed!
We have hosted a naturopath and an APRN to share about careers in medical fields. The next week, three professionals from engineering fields joined us. We even hosted a special presentation about Travelers and the many career opportunities available in large corporations like insurance companies.
One theme has remained consistent throughout all three sessions: keep doors and your mind open to what God may have planned for you! It has been inspiring to hear the journeys that these professionals have taken to get from high school to their current careers.
The message can be summed up in this advice from Alissa Watson, APRN, "Shadow if possible. Keep all doors open. Trust that God has you and your back; He is for you. Focus on what's important. Listen to God's leadings and learn from the Holy Spirit. Be excited and expectant."

career exploration continues
As we enter 2023, we will be beginning an in-depth review of our school as we begin the self-study process for our re-accreditation. Cornerstone maintains K-12 Accreditation through both the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) and the Middle States Association of Schools and Colleges (MSA). Every six to seven years our school undergoes a reaccreditation process. This involves 18 months of self-study followed by an onsite evaluation by a visiting team of professionals from other accredited Christian schools. CCS will conduct our self-study from the spring of 2023 through the summer of 2024. Our evaluation visit will take place in the fall of 2024.
Over the next few months we will begin forming teams of volunteers to look at various aspects of our program. We hope to have parent and student representatives on many of these teams. We will also need "friends" of Cornerstone to participate. Please begin praying to ask if God would have you serve on one of these teams. Watch for more information to be published soon!
