In 1976 , the Wieczoreks purchased half blood cows from the Symens and Ogrens families , and by then , they also had third generation females on the ranch from those initial artificial insemination decisions made with the adoption of Limousin genetics . With a foundation to work from , they began focusing on selecting for performance traits .

After graduating from college in 1987 with a degree in agricultural business , Curt moved back home to Mount Vernon , and married Leanne in 1988 . Together , they raised three daughters , Danielle , Megan and Emily , on their fourth-generation operation . The ranch was homesteaded in 1882 by Henry Wieczorek
