He was a member of the Georgia Cattleman’s Association where he was chosen as a Georgia Cattleman of the Year in 2005. Mr. Sayer was a Limousin breeder in Georgia. He continued having sales with clients in seven states. Rev. Sayer was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Harper Sayer, son, James David Sayer, grandson, Marc Shannon Sayer, sisters, Azalee Williams, Addie Ruth Spires, Christine Sayer, Annie Lou Bell, Bertie Standridge and Mildred Lankford and brothers, David, J.B., Robert, Noah and Starks. Survivors include his daughter and son-in- law, June and Ronald Merritt of Ambrose, Ga.; son, Wayne and Willene Sayer of Wray, Ga.; his grandchildren, Lee and Cindy Sayer, Trevor and Lisa Merritt, Gregory and Loran Sayer, Becky and Steve Thompson; great grandchildren, Rebecca (Brandon) Hester, Wesley McDermitt, Marc,Macey, Rachel and Sophia Sayer, Jonathon and Joshua Sayer and Darby Merritt; two great great grandchildren; two sisters, Elera McDonald and Louise Dowling. Thoughts & Prayers for the Spitz Family Fred Spitz Sr. passed away on June 1, 2019. His life of 86 years was full of many adventures as a businessman, rancher, civil engineer, butcher, farmer, Army soldier, husband, father, and friend to many. Fred was a dedicated supporter of the Oklahoma Limousin Breeders Association and the Oklahoma Junior Limousin Association. He leaves behind wife, Janelle, of almost 67 years and his sons. Our deepest condolences to the Spitz family. 42 | JUNE/JULY 2019 Our Deepest Condolences to the Wies Family Robert “Bob” Wies, 87, of Saint Charles, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, June 6, 2019. Bob and his wife, Euvonne, started raising cattle in 1975. It started as a hobby and turned into a passion for them. Over the years, they have received many awards and have been influential in the breed. They also enjoyed traveling to several of the International Limousin Congress (ILC) trips. In 1998 they were inducted into the Missouri Limousin Breeders (MLBA) “Hall of Fame.” This award, which was started in 1996, is presented annually to recognize the accomplishments of a breeders who has been a longtime member of the organization, a person of the highest integrity, and one who has demonstrated ongoing leadership in both the association and within the breed itself.
