cows, which consisted of 25 Fullblood & Purebred Limousin females.
Today, the Super C Limousin herd consists of Purebred and Lim-Flex cattle in Southeast, Kansas. The cow-calf operation consists of 150 cows, in which about half are artificially inseminated or used for embryos to raise bred and owned show cattle. With the end of his youngest daughter show career, this summer, the emphasis is changing to raising quality show heifers for juniors and bulls to sell to commercial cattleman.
Randy, while raising Limousin cattle, also was a school Superintendent for 20 years. His desire for working with kids has taken place for over 35 years, even while attending college to become an educator. He has now retired from education, but currently works with school districts across Kansas with Strategic Planning, School Budgeting, and Personnel Leadership. Randy is also active with the Kansas Limousin Breeders Association, where he serves as a board member and was a past president. He is currently serving on the Heartland Limousin Association Board.
Curt Wieczorek
Curt is the fourth generation to operate the original tract of ground homesteaded by his great grandparents in 1882. Following high school, he completed a twoyear degree at Mitchell technical institute in Agriculture Management, where he participated and was high point individual on the livestock judging team. He also participated in student government and during his second year, was elected president. Following completion, Curt then enrolled in the Agriculture Business program at Mid-America Nazarene University, Olathe, Kan.,
30 | DECEMBER 2017- JANUARY 2018 completing his bachelor’ s degree before returning home. Curt and his wife, Leanne, have three daughters and currently live in Mr. Vernon, S. D.
Since that time, Curt has had the opportunity to serve on numerous boards; from local church and county township to regional and state positions, including the South Dakota Limousin Association. He is currently serving on the board of directors for Custom Genetic Solutions, a custom semen collection facility located in rural Mitchell, S. D. Curt also serves on three committees for NALF,( breed improvement, commercial marketing, and rules and regulations) and currently chairs the rules and regulations committee. Curt has considered it an honor and privilege to have serve the membership during the past three years.
Matt Bruner
Matt Bruner is originally from Winfred and currently resides in White, S. D.
41 years ago, Matt was born into the Limousin breed, his parents started Bruner Limousin in 1973. He grew up very hands on with the cowherd. Riding pastures heat checking at age six with his eightyear-old sister, so his dad could plant corn turned into feed grinders, feed wagons, and haying.
He was a NALJA member from seven years old. Matt still occasionally gets reminded of the“ Limousin, They’ re the Middles” speech he gave in Rapid City during the 1984 junior show. Thirteen years later he was one of the first NALJA Award of Excellence winners.
Throughout college and for 15 years after getting his degree at SDSU, Matt was the herdsman at Bruner Limousin. If it involved the daily care of the
