The Faeries

When Johannes came to England in 1995, his first big commission was The Faeries. He pondered on how he could make Victorian faeries out of granite, glass and steel. After careful thought, he created a model which was approved by the client. The large-scale sculpture was installed on the grounds. However, it was soon knocked over by cows and had to be transferred into the garden.

Rings

One morning, Johannes woke up with a completely different idea: to make rings using the finger as a peg! After some research and with the aid of the latest technology (laser sintering of gold) he has created beautiful two-piece rings, partners which become one.

Johannes experimented with replacing glass with space, an emptiness which allows light to shine through, creating what Johannes calls a "light shadow" rather than dark shadows.
