The Surrey Sculpture Society Summer Social

Our annual summer social took place in the ‘Wooded wonderland’ surroundings of Sigi Hill’s garden at the beautiful Bentworth Hall.

Sigi’s kindness and generosity made for a relaxed and enjoyable day for all.

The weather was great, the food delicious and the setting, a combination of wild wooded areas and open spaces with seating areas all abundant with flora and fauna (although they sensibly stayed away from a group of noisy sculptors.) Magical!

A sculpture-themed quiz after lunch amusingly resulted in much head-scratching so thank you to Jeanne Argent for providing the challenge.

We had live music from Claire Nelson’s talented husband, Maurizio which created a lovely atmosphere for conversation and a few gentle (but surprisingly competitive, it turned out) games on the Boules court.

Thank you again, Sigi, for your generosity and to Nick Baker for effortlessly ‘compering’ the day in his inimitable style.

Next year is Surrey Sculpture Society’s 30 th Anniversary – watch this space for celebrations next summer!
