A Place Apart

Elizabeth Frink’s Studio

written by Janet Morton

This was a remarkable exhibition of an artist’s studio in the huge barn gallery at Messums. Elizabeth Frink’s studio was rescued and reassembled by Messums including some original contents and archive evidence.

How was this possible? After her death a photographer recorded images of her studio at Woolland, her house and home in Dorset where she lived with her husband, Alex. It later fell into disrepair when the rest of the property was sold.

I went to see this exhibition with a friend who was also curious about this unusual exhibition.
