Lend Me Your Eyes And I Will Change What You See

don’ t believe in accidental meetings, although it was not until later in life that I understood just how the Universe has the power to connect people at a specific time for a specific purpose. These meetings have a purpose, a life lesson, whether we choose to acknowledge it or not, and often this purpose is not realised until much later, long
after the connection was made.
This article is based on one such introduction. I first discovered Peter Adams-Shawn’ s photography,( I dare not say by accident!), many months prior to meeting him in July 2017 through mutual friends. I was immediately captivated by his images. My interest in photography, unique photography, was something that my Grandfather gifted me as a child, as this was his passion. Human interest pieces and landscape photography of the Western Australian outback was where his lenses were always pointed.
The colours, shapes, contours and the lighting on the land and sea were always captivating and magical to me. Nature at its best. So, to come across Peter’ s“ Memories of Tomorrow Photography” and Instagram pages earlier on this year, without knowing him, became that reminder of the beauty that surrounds us, and just how much I missed not pursuing my creative arts, like I did when I was much younger. I had to learn more about Peter’ s journey. How did a boy born in Yorkshire, England in 1978, acclaimed worldwide for his unique photography style, end up living in the small coastal hamlet of Binningup Beach, Western Australia? Honouring my Grandfather, Roy Milner, also a Yorkshireman, I share Peter’ s Story.
Born, raised and educated in Sheffield, southern Yorkshire, studying languages and Mathematics led Peter to an Accounting degree and a Masters in Software, where he worked as a Network Engineer for around 8 years. Always interested in photography, Peter became self-taught through the Canon camera manuals, taking the opportunity to refine his craft at family weddings and events, however, it was not until 2003, at an Italian wedding, that Peter met the internationally acclaimed vintage wedding and travel photographer, Edoardo Agrtesti, who’ s style, technique and the ability to capture a moment with a difference, became a notable influence in his photography.
