Connecting Through The Spiritual Grid by Wanda Veloz
One could say that the theme of this world today is connectivity. We’ re connected through the technological grid now more than ever before. You can chat with someone in the opposite side of the world in an instant, or you can take care of things from work at any time, all through your phone or computer. You can check in on your kids, family and friends all with a simple phone call or by sending them a message. Whatsapp, Facebook, Zoom, Skype. All of these are tools that allow us to connect to each other in real time, no matter the distance. So, in a world that offers such an opportunity to connect, why is it that we’ re so disconnected from each other? It’ s so ironic for me to see the benefit of this technological grid, and yet see two people having dinner; each one lost fiddling with their phones. No one-on-one connection; no conversation; no looking into each other’ s eyes while they speak. I always wonder, are they talking to each other through their phones? It wouldn’ t surprise me if this was the case.
¿ What has happened to our ability to connect and talk? ¿ Do we really talk or do we just chat? Or maybe we’ re just waiting for our chance to chime in with our opinion when the other person stops speaking. ¿ When was the last time that you connected with all of your gazillion friends on Facebook or whichever social media you use? ¿ Do you even know who most of them are? We’ ve grown so accustomed to the technological grid that we’ re neglected the heart grid, which is the one that gives meaning to the first one. You can have many people on your social networks, but if you don’ t connect with them, what’ s the point? ¿ What do you give people when they connect with you, or are they just means to an end? ¿ Do you have connections just to have them, or does this connection serve a purpose?
This month my featured article is Nakharú Fashion Brands. In it, Natalia said something that really resonated with me:“ I always look for people who are around me and have some contact with me, to not leave feeling the same way that they came”. To me, that’ s value! That’ s what makes a difference. Be it in your business or in everyday life, giving someone your attention in order to offer them something beautiful they can leave with is priceless. The truth is, while the technological grid is an amazing tool to have, the heart to heart connection is a must. And I’ ll take this even further: I believe we’ re all part of a Grand Spiritual Grid to which we all contribute and nurture, and from which we all learn and experience. We feed it, and it feeds us.
Over the years I’ ve had the fortune to connect with many people around the world due to common interests: music, movies, and hobbies. Many of them have come and gone, but the ones that remain are the ones that I’ ve connected on a deeper level with; the ones that, even if I don’ t speak to them every day, are those that I can message and chat about anything that’ s going on with me, as if they’ re sitting next to me, and vice versa.
Connecting to the world grid is a must, especially in your business. It can help take you to another level, and expose you to a whole new different market that 20 years ago you wouldn’ t have been able to connect with this easily. But in order for these connections to prosper, you must engage on a deeper level. You can cheat and keep things superficial and impersonal, but I doubt people would keep coming back to you if you do.
Don’ t be scared of connecting with people. Looking someone in the eye, giving them a smile or a“ thank you” are the simplest ways to recognize someone, and show them how much you value them. ¿ And if a connection simply doesn’ t bring you the respect and consideration that you deserve? Don’ t be scared of waving it goodbye and sending it on is way. Smile when you do this too. We can talk all we want about connecting and connections, but the most important connecting you can have is with yourself. Know yourself; be true to who you are. As human beings we grow and evolve, but our core remains. In order to connect with the world and shine light on your connections, you must first do this for yourself. You can’ t give what you don’ t have.
So today I invite you to connect with those around you; to honor them and yourself with the opportunity to come in contact in the now. Thank you for connecting with us here on LifeGrid Magazine. Thank you for taking the time to read this editorial. And if you know someone we should connect with, feel free to send them our way. For now, I invite you to connect with Natalia and Nakharú Fashion Brands. A business I’ m very proud to feature on LifeGrid Santo Domingo, because I believe it represents the spirit of service, joy and connectivity of Santo Domingo.
