After an hour, we checked in at the Silk Palace Hotel and had a buffet dinner there. After the dinner, we went to see the aboriginal people (Amis Group) singing their traditional songs. The songs were awesome! 2/14 Thursday We woke up and enjoyed our buffet breakfast at the hotel. Today, our first stop was theTaroko Lu-Shui He-Liu Trail.The trail was beautiful, and it wasn’t hard to walk. Then, after two hours on the bus, we arrived at the Li-Chuan Fishery.The activity we did was to step into the 40 meters deep pond to grab the clams. This was what the countryside children did 40-50 years ago. Later, we had a lunch there. Next, we visited the Vatann Wet Land. We experinced the “Palakaw”, which was the way that aboriginal people used to catch the fish. It was really fun! Then, we tasted the stone hotpot. They used some pieces of serpentine(a kind of stone) in1000 degree celsius to put it in the hotpot to cook the fish and vegatables. We also tried some millet mochi. They both tasted great! After that, we went to the Tafalong Tribe. Our tourguide showed us many traditional tools and clothing. It was really cool! At last, we went
