There outside of the car stood a destitute child wearing ragged salwar kameez and trying to sell the trinkets she was holding. I could see the desperation on her face. This girl however is hardly unique because children all over the world are suffering and do not have ability to improve their circumstances. Seeing these children suffering, I see a community in crisis. The educational system is extremely faulty. Nor is there a proper handling of this issue. The Pakistani government needs to take action and reform the educational system for everyone in the country in order to improve standards in country.
Many of the adults who don't get an education are then later unable to send their own children to school, therefore creating a cycle.“As a result, 49% of the population cannot read or write and are stuck in a poverty cycle”("Quality Schools For 25,000 Of Pakistan's Poor").
This lack of education and ignorance leads to other problems such as health issues, gender discrimination, and low standards of living. Since the people are not educated and do not get the proper opportunities they are suffering. “The countries in these regions, including Pakistan, are behind in virtually every index”(Saeed). There are many problems in the country, however the most prevalent is education, because it impacts the others. If the people are educated at least than they would be better able to help themselves. Children are suffering not just now but will suffer for the rest of their lives because they will not be able to improve their situations. These children and people need to be empowered to improve their own plight and that of the country.
Education is something that empowers children and people to take charge of their own present and future. If that is being taken away from them then these people are put into a trap. The Pakistani government needs to see that the country is suffering and needs to take action and they need to start from the base. However this is not just a problem in Pakistan it is happening all around the world. Therefore more people need to stand up and take charge of their future and compel the government to improve and make reform in the country.
The Pakistani Government Needs to Step up and Reform the Educational System.

The government needs to take into consideration that in order for the country to prosper they need to take actions now. In order to tackle the problems in the country they need to solve this issue because then they will be attacking it from its base. In the different provinces depending on their infrastructure the education standards are also different. The government needs to take this into consideration. This is not just the question of education though, this ignorance in the country also affects other aspects in the country.
The government needs to take action and improve this. The people in the country need to learn in order to take action. Many of the individuals who are not attending school are those from rural areas. These communities are not thought about on part of the government. Most of the schools which are functionable are private schools. Therefore the poor cannot afford these and therefore have to settle for a lower standard of education, in governmental schools, or none at all.
The schools that exist lack funding from the government. “The country reduced its spending on education from 2.6 per cent to 2.3pc of the GNP (gross national product) over the decade and ranks 113th of the 120 countries on the Education Development Index,”(Masoor). They have the second highest percentage of people who are not attending school. Then there is even less of that population who has a higher education.
